The question remains, who will raise the voice for those 15000 young boys of Karachi who were killed by the men in uniform. Today, we have been hearing on the TV shows all the political opponents are mentioning that more than 250 police officers who conducted Operation Clean Up have been killed. Again MQM leaders and supporters are labelled as the agent of “RAW”. Another list of allegations has been released. Today yet again, another wave of such operation has been imposed on MQM. Naseer Akhtar are on record that all the allegations were fabricated. One can write books upon books on those atrocities of men in uniform on common Pakistanis.Ģ0 years later, the people who launched and conducted the operation against the Mohajirs and MQM, on air in live TV show admitted that Jinnahpur was a conspiracy that was hatched by the people in uniform with the blessings of so called “Democratic” government to bring down MQM. Horrifying stories of that operation still haunt us. The irony is that this genocide was practiced on the boys between the ages of 13 to 33. “Cheera” was the term that was used by Police where two people pulls the legs of the victim apart as much as they could that resulted in impotency of thousands of young boys. There were some lucky ones who were able to give heavy bribes to get their lives spared. They not only killed thousands of Mohajirs but arrested hundreds of thousands. So called maps of “Jinnahpur” were recovered. Someone somewhere was picked up tortured to death or was declared “Fake Encounter”. There wasn’t any street in Karachi where there was peace. Fabricated cases were lodged every day, fake torture cells were captured every day. The sole purpose of the operation was to wipe out MQM completely. Over the period of next three years more than fifteen thousand leaders, workers and supporters were killed in the name of Operation Clean Up. I left the country and was lucky enough to come out. I was instructed that the ONLY assignment from the Tehreek is to save your life. Every day the newspapers were filled with the news of killed MQM APMSO leaders, workers and supporters. I stayed in Karachi for three months in hiding but the situation started getting worst day by day, thousands of workers were arrested. Not everybody was lucky enough to hide or leave the city. There were many who were able to find places to hide but that was the time when number of workers were in hundreds of thousands and supporters were much more than that. Likewise thousands and thousands of workers and office bearers were told to hide themselves and save their lives. That was the last day I was there at that office. We were asked by the leadership not to leave the office until instructed and finally around 6:30 pm we got the message that leave the offices and run for your life, hide yourself, save yourself. I personally witnessed that turn coat traitors were sitting in the trucks of Army and guiding them to the house of the workers and office bearers of MQM & APMSO. We have been constantly getting the news that the ongoing operation is very soon be turning towards MQM.Īnd finally the day came in, June 19 th.
